Dear Customer,
 |
| Blaine Yates, CEO |
Thank You from all of us at Xlear. We started Xlear back
in 2000 to get the word out on the benefits of xylitol and its role in
keeping people healthy. When we started our message was a simple
one. Rinse your nose with xylitol (Xlear Nasal
Wash) just like
you would wash your hands with soap, and you'll get sick
less, miss less work or school, visit the doctor less, and need
fewer rounds of antibiotics. That message has expanded over the
years to include the wonderful dental benefits of xylitol and the
overall health benefits of using xylitol as a sweetener in place
of the chemical artificial sweeteners associated with so many health
problems, or sugar and its role in tooth decay, diabetes, and the
overall "fattening of America."
Well, we would like to report that the word is getting out thanks
to those of you who heard our message, and then told your friends
and families. We are nearing the end of yet another great year
for
our company. Significantly more xylitol and xylitol products
went out to our customers this year than any other year before,
and it looks like the trend will continue into the future. There
has been no slowdown, and in fact, more xylitol goods are making
their way into consumers' hands as the year has progressed.
To support the demand, we recently moved into a new building
with nearly three times the space of our old building and with
a cleanroom
that will eventually allow us to classify Xlear as a medical
device -- making it available as a prescription. Thanks again for
spreading the
good word. We hope to be able to introduce many new and novel uses for xylitol
in the coming year. I don't want to give away too many secrets,
but we will be promoting a moisturizing spray for people who suffer
from dry mouth. As many of you know, dry mouth leads to all sorts
of health problems. The primary problem is that of tooth decay,
but it also lead to other issues such as snoring, sleeplessness,
sore throats, etc. We will be promoting both a spray and an entire
dry mouth kit containing the spray, and other established Xlear
products like Spry gums and mints, Fine & Dandy Candy, and
Spry toothpaste. These products will be a wonderful relief for
those suffering from dry mouth due to medication use, radiation
or chemotherapy, or just general decreased salivary flow. Look
for it around the first of the year.
Again, many thanks for your support and input over the last six
years. We hope we'll hear from you from time to time with
suggestions or more great testimonials about how our xylitol products
have helped your lives. Happy Holidays from Xlear!
Best wishes,
Blaine Yates

All I Want
for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth (in perfect condition) For
many folks the Christmas Holiday Season is a time to loosen up
on dietary restrictions. Seasonal sweet treats and candies can
pose a threat to teeth as well as to waistlines. All that sugar
can lead to acid that decalcifies tooth enamel and causes tooth
decay. One naturally-sweet sugar replacement--xylitol--can help
neutralize plaque acids and prevent damage before it begins. Xylitol
can even help to remineralize areas that have already been damaged.
It only takes small amounts of xylitol, such as in mints and chewing
gum, to greatly increase dental protection.
Long-Term Protection
Xylitol has been shown in more than a dozen long-term trials to
dramatically reduce the incidence of tooth decay (dental caries).
One surprising finding is that xylitol groups enjoy a long-term
protective effect, which persists even several years after xylitol
use is discontinued. Closer examination of the results revealed
that the best protection was associated with teeth that erupted
(grew through the gums) during a period of xylitol use. In most
of these studies, only small amounts of xylitol were used in
the form of chewing gum, at least 3 times each day.

Cooking with Xylitol
This xylitol recipe is courtesy of the revised and expanded xylitol
cookbook "Sweeten Your
Life the Xylitol Way," by Karen Edwards, PhD. The recipe book
is available through Xlear.com.
Holiday
Cranberry Walnut Cobbler
Filling
4 cups fresh cranberries (two 8-oz. packages)
1 1/3 cups Xylosweet
3/4
cup coarsely chopped walnuts
3 TBS freshly squeezed orange juice
1/3 cup unsalted butter
Batter
1/4 cup Xylosweet
1 cup spelt flour or whole wheat pastry flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2
cup low-fat milk
To prepare filling: In a large bowl combine xylitol with cranberries
that have been cut in half. (Cutting cranberries in half prevents
them from bursting during baking, which helps them to retain their
shape.) Stir well to coat all the berries with xylitol. Cover and
set aside for two hours or place in refrigerator overnight. After
allowing mixture to sit, stir in walnuts and orange juice. Melt
butter and pour into 8" square baking pan. Spoon filling
over melted butter in baking pan.
To prepare batter: Combine xylitol with flour and baking powder.
Add egg and milk, and mix well. Pour batter over filling, and bake
at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.

Xlear Product Testimonials
Xlear Nasal Wash
"Dear Makers of Xlear:"
This past spring my mother told me about Xlear Nasal Wash, and
how it has helped my father with his sinus problem. Well as good
as it sounded, I sent away for three bottles, not really believing
anything could be as good as my mother proclaimed.
"Well, I received my three bottles of Xlear and started
using the nasal wash. Around this time of year, I always come down
with bronchitis. Let me back up a bit. Every year when the weather
changes, usually from fall to winter then winter to spring, I come
down with this terrible allergen from the spores of the wet lands;
and here in lower Delaware, there is nothing but wet lands, so
back to my thought. I have not come down with bronchitis so far
this year, and by now I usually have it at least twice. Even my
boss noticed and asked me what I was doing different this year.
"Today he asked me for your website and phone number, and
he is going to tell his wife. Then a co-worker overheard, and she
took the website too.
"Thanks for this great product.
"M. Smith"
