Dr. Catherine Hayes, Assistant Professor, Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, was published in the Journal of Dental Education, October 2001/Vol. 65/No. 10 pp. 1106-1109.

After reviewing current published evidence and clinical studies regarding the relationship between sugar substitutes and dental caries, Dr. Hayes concluded:
